This initiative is designed to combat the high rates of diabetes and the critical vaccination gaps in the Baltimore community. "Diabetes leads to severe complications - such as heart attacks, kidney failure, amputations, blindness, and premature death," said Bishop J. L. Carter, pastor at Ark Church, which is spearheading the program. "With our community experiencing some of the highest rates of diabetes in the nation, along with the concurrent low vaccination rates against flu and COVID-19, our congregation, and the Baltimore community, is at high risk - and those with diabetes are further endangered with the risk of severe illnesses and death." To help combat this threat, Ark Church, through the "Lifting Up Our Health - Together" program, which is a community-driven effort to elevate health awareness and access to care through education, support services, and direct medical interventions, will host monthly luncheons through April, featuring educational sessions on diabetes management, nutritious meals, and clinical services including vaccinations for flu and COVID-19. "At Ark Church, we are embracing the call to heal and strengthen our community from within," Carter said. "Our mission at Ark Church has always been to serve not just the spiritual but also the physical well-being of our congregation and neighbors. Dear friends, This week in San Diego, Women in Bitcoin & Blockchain, an initiative of Unstoppable Future, had the joy of co-hosting a lively and uplifting Crypto & Coffee event with our amazing collaborators: Stand With Crypto , Stella Foundation , Beauty on the Blockchain and SheCrypto at Hera Hub . From blockchain to business, it was powerful to witness so many aligned missions under one roof. I am especially grateful to the powerhouse women who worked behind the scenes to pull this all together: Fari Jaan of Beauty on the Blockchain and Edge Wallet; Carrie “Ms. NFTy” Lyn Henman , California President at Stand With Crypto and founder of LearnVille; and Riley Jennings of Baddies Mean Business and the Stella Foundation. Their leadership, hustle, and heart were the driving force behind an unforgettable morning of community, conversation, and Web3 exploration. I felt such a special connection to these women who devote their time and energy to helping others navigate the crypto and Web3 space with confidence and purpose. Another highlight was connecting with both men and women in tech and chatting about Web3 tools and how they can unlock new paths for growth, funding, and community-building. Guests included incredible leaders and builders like Kim Currier from Decentraland , Valerie Carrillo from San Diego NFT Friends , Morgan Rockwell of Mycosoft and MycoDAO , who reminded us how powerful and collaborative this space can be when people come together with curiosity and intention. Also loved hearing from the team at Oink , which is coming soon! I started Women In Bitcoin & Blockchain with the mission to help people, especially women and underestimated founders, feel confident stepping into Web3. Through its Women in Bitcoin (WIB) initiative, the nonprofit brought a group of more than 100 women to Bitcoin 2025 – an effort to empower the next generation of female Bitcoin leaders, builders, and investors. The delegation includes entrepreneurs, politicians, developers, students, top executives, and thought leaders from around the globe.
